
U.S. Service Member Dies In Afghanistan Helicopter Crash

A U.S. service member has died in a helicopter crash in the Logar province of Afghanistan, late Friday evening.
NATO Resolute Support confirmed today that the death was a result of injuries sustained during the crash which has left six other U.S. crew members injured.
All six injured personnel are now receiving medical treatment.
The Logar province is located just south of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
NATO Resolute Support says the crash was not the result of enemy action and that all personnel have been accounted for, with the crash site secured.
General John Nicholson, commander, Resolute Support said: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our comrade.”
"On behalf of all of Resolute Support, our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and friends of our fallen comrade and those injured in this unfortunate event.”
Resolute Support is investigating the circumstances of the crash to determine the cause.
