Veterans Reunited With The Arctic Convoys That Helped Win WWII
The 75th anniversary of the Arctic Convoys is to be marked with a reunion of veterans from Britain and the US at the place where they set off from Scotland.
Loch Ewe became pivotal as the assembly point for the ships, which carried vital supplies to Russia during the Second World War.
The reunion has been organised by the Russian Arctic Convoy Museum Project to coincide with the opening week of their new commemorative museum.
From 1941 until the end of the Second World War, thousands of Scots sailed from Loch Ewe to Russia.
Vital in supporting the eastern front - the men risked their lives to take on the journey.
The convoys carried food and weapons to help the fight against German forces.
75 years on, the tranquillity here will be disturbed once more.
The small village will welcome back veterans who survived the conditions all those years ago.
