Brave1: Ukraine's military marketplace hits $1bn in orders within the first year

Ukraine's troops are using points earned on the battlefield to buy $1bn worth of military kit, and the online system was only created a year ago. 

In January, BFBS Forces News reported on Brave1, Kyiv's state-funded online marketplace, where military units can choose and buy their kit directly from manufacturers for the first time. 

They do it using ePoints, which personnel get for things like destroying enemy targets and casualty evacuation on combat missions.

These 'points' are converted into cash by the Ukrainian government, so the units then buy the technology they require, such as drones, UGVs and electronic warfare kit – whatever it is they need for the mission.
