When Lost Meets Scrapheap Challenge...

This new Channel 4 series, led by Former Royal Engineer Ant Middleton, will follow a group of five engineers who are stranded at a 'crash site' in a hostile environment.

In each episode, the group, which will be formed by four new cast members every week, will find themselves in different terrain such as desert, snow, jungle or on water.

The team have to use their engineering skills to build a new vehicle from the debris of the wreckage.

They must generate their own power and make their own shelter but they can’t just survive, they must escape.

The only supplies the team are given are basic food rations and water, the only tools they have are those they can find or salvage from the debris.

The programme is billed as popular US series Lost meets UK old-school favourite Scrapheap Challenge... If that doesn't sound like a must watch, I don't know what does?

All the crash sites took a month to prepare ahead of each episode and they are loosely based on real-life crashes.

In episode one, the crash site was so realistic that the local military carried out a fly-by to investigate.

Escape starts Sunday 1st October at 8pm on Channel 4.
