Williamson Won't Comment On More British Troops For Afghanistan

The Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, has refused to confirm reports that he's written to the Prime Minister requesting around 400 more British soldiers are sent to Afghanistan.

Appearing before the Commons Defence Committee, he said troop numbers are kept under constant review.

The Defence Secretary praised the work of British forces in Afghanistan.

He says they're helping to secure stability in the country.
