Work Starts On First Ever Housing & Enterprise Project For Veterans

Thanks to a 3.5 million-pound funding grant from the Libor fund, dozens of ex-serving personnel are set to benefit from a brand new community campus where they’ll live and same time receive specialist employment training and help with starting a business.

Forty-five homes are set to be built at the former Army Head Quarters at Erskine Barracks in Wilton.

The site will be transformed into a community-based campus not just with homes but with a specialised business and enterprise hub too.

Local charity Alabare who support homeless veterans is also involved.

The accommodation isn’t permeant but will allow veterans to rent the flats for up to two years while they get business and skills training at the hub.

It’ll sit alongside two new housing developments where families will live among the veterans creating a new integrated community.
