A triple amputee Army veteran is hoping to become the first to sail across the Pacific Ocean solo and unsupported.

Craig Wood lost his left hand and both legs, and also sustained facial injuries after being hit by an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Afghanistan.

Now he is taking on the solo challenge to try to change people's perception of what is possible for someone with a disability.

In the video above, Forces News spoke to the Rifles veteran about what lies ahead in his Pacific challenge.
