In pictures: Royals join Trooping the Colour parade

The ceremonial Trooping the Colour is taking place at Horse Guards Parade in London, to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Trooping the Colour is a celebration of the Queen's birthday, also known as the Queen's Birthday Parade.

It holds special status at the start of a long weekend of official events to mark Queen Elizabeth II's 70-year reign.
