Queen Camilla meets personnel and families at the North of England's sole airbase
It was a windy welcome for the Queen at RAF Leeming, where Her Majesty spent the afternoon visiting military personnel and families at the North Yorkshire base.
Queen Camilla stepped off the Royal Flight and onto the apron at the airbase, greeted by a guard of honour and the station commander, Group Captain Paul Hamilton.
The royal visitor, who is the Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Leeming, spent time talking to personnel and getting an update on the vital defence activities going on there.
"Queen Camilla is a very close friend of RAF Leeming. We have a really good relationship with the Royal Household," Gp Cpt Hamilton told BFBS Forces News.
"For her to come and visit, it's a real privilege and it means a huge amount to the station and all of our people."
The visit also provided an opportunity for the Queen to meet service families, including children from the school that sits within Leeming's perimeter.
The Queen then spent time at the station's nature-based welfare facility, which includes beehives and a chicken coop.

"As we all know being in the military can be quite tough, and having the ability to have welfare and wellness support to those people I think is really important," Gp Capt Hamilton said.
"As a community, we've pulled together to try and provide all sorts of sports, gyms, wellness facilities, a natural environment for families to come."
Organisers of the initiative rescued a group of hens from a battery farm when it closed and have also taken on some rare breed chickens, with the eggs sold via an honesty box.
In a polytunnel, families grow a wide range of produce from tomatoes and courgettes to peppers and herbs.

Before Queen Camilla departed, she enjoyed a flypast featuring jets from the joint UK-Qatari squadron and was presented with a hamper containing produce grown on the base.
