The Royal Scots Borderers, the 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, and their antecedent regiments have been involved in every major operational campaign over the last few decades, including several tours of Afghanistan.

But with combat operations there due to finish this year how does the British Army move away from counter-insurgency fighting and back to traditional skills?
