2RRF Mark the End of 46 Years of History
The Second Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers is getting ready to close its doors for the very last time as it prepares for disbandment next month.
The battalion, based at Dhekelia in Cyprus is being axed as part of Army 2020 cutbacks.
This evening the battalion will be beating the retreat for the last time in barracks – marking the end of 46 years of history.
Our reporter Carla Prater has been talking to some of its personnel and looking back at its past two years in Cyprus.
