96-Year-Old Burma Veteran Honoured At Funeral

The funeral of one of the last surviving "Chindits" has taken place in Liverpool. 
 
96 year old Private Philip Hayden served as part of the multi-national special force who fought the Japanese in Burma in 1943 and 1944.
 
The Chindits were the largest of the allied Special Forces of the Second World War.
 
They operated deep behind enemy lines in northern Burma in the war against Japan.
 
The last of the 54 Kingsman sent from Liverpool, Phil has been an iconic figure in the City of Liverpool in recent years.
