Army chief's coin presented to Fusiliers for their work on Afghan resettlement

First Fusiliers deployed in support of Operation Lazurite have been presented the British Army Chief of General Staff's coin, for their "hard work" and "dedication".
Personnel deployed on the operation supported Afghans, who had previously worked alongside the British Army, to settle into their new lives in the UK.
The refugees had the right to live and work in the UK under the MOD's Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP).
The newly appointed Chief of the General Staff General Sir Roly Walker met with Z Coy, who have been deployed over several locations across the southern UK on Op Lazurite.
On X, the First Fusiliers said: "The mission is clear, to take care of those who supported us in Afghanistan."
The operation has seen personnel dashing to and from UK civilian airports to collect arrivals, bringing them to their initial homes at military bases all over England, and supporting them as they begin their new lives.
Forces News was given special access to one such military base near Chepstow, which at the time of the visit was home to 200 Afghan civilians who had come to the UK as part of ARAP.
