The Art Project Highlighting The Physical Reality Of War

A unique art project is underway to create thousands of hand-stitched shroud covered figurines representing soldiers killed on the bloodiest day in British Military History.

19,240 soldiers were killed in the first four hours of the Battle of the Somme on 1 July 1916.

South West artist Rob Heard hopes that the 19240 Shrouds Of The Somme project will honour those who fell 100 years ago.
