Barbarians become battle-ready as they swap The Rock for the UK on live-fire exercise
Soldiers from The Royal Gibraltar Regiment, known as the Barbarians, have traded the warm blue skies of Gib for the drizzly plains of the UK for their annual firing exercise – Exercise Jebel Tarik.
Hythe and Lydd ranges in Kent offered the regiment an expansive, isolated battle space, a perfect training ground for developing and refining battlefield skills.
And a simulated scenario in which the regiment must hold and defend a Nato facility from an advancing militia force offered just that.
In our video above, BFBS Forces News joins the Barbarians through Exercise Jebel Tarik, part of an annual overseas training package to the UK that gives the regiment an invaluable opportunity to test and assess their combat readiness.
