Discreet Surveillance Top Priority For Reserve Force On Exercise

Britain's oldest regiment has arrived on the Isle of Wight for Exercise Vambrace Horizon.

The exercise tests soldier skills in unfamiliar surroundings.

The Honourable Artillery Company based in the City of London is made up of reservists who specialise in discreet target surveillance.

Their nine day exercise takes place on land, sea and air.

Part of the exercise involved the units vehicles being shipped over to the island courtesy of 17 Port & Maritime RLC based at Marchwood, using Mexeflote craft.

HAC Senior Major Johnny Longbottom MBE said,

“It’s not often that the regiment has the opportunity to train its soldiers away from the mainland and we are grateful to be extended this privilege.

We look forward to a challenging and productive exercise on the Isle of Wight."
