Don't Get Thrown Again: Army Judo Championships

A handful of Forces athletes have been invited to compete at the British Judo Championships in Sheffield this weekend.

Army Captain Alex Paske will be among those taking to the mat, hoping to win a place on the podium, but also looking to earn a coveted spot in the Great Britain Judo squad. Although he's cautious:

"Judo's a funny sport. You can step onto the mat and be thrown in three seconds by someone you've never seen before. It's a tough sport and quite a cruel one at that".

Alex had the chance to go and practice his sport in Japan recently, the mecca of Judo.

British Judo Championships

He missed out on a medal at the British championships last year by the narrowest of margins.

A podium finish this time around will banish his disappointment from 12 months ago.
