Doug Beattie Remembers Those Who Made The Ultimate Sacrifice
All this week we're looking at what Remembrance means to those affected by conflict.
In a military career spanning more than three decades, Captain Doug Beattie of the Royal Irish Regiment, served on operations all over the world, from the streets of Northern Ireland to the desert plains of Afghanistan.
In an interview with Forces TV he recalled, in vivid detail, the friends and colleagues who didn’t return, as well as those who will have to live with the scars of war for the rest of their lives.
