Former US Soldier Discusses Front Line Experiences

For military personnel throughout the ages, writing can be a huge form of release and a way of dealing with the experiences of war.

It's especially true for former American soldier Brian Turner who took to writing during a tough deployment to Iraq in 2003.

Famous for his poetry which gave the film 'The Hurt Locker' it's title, in recent years he's turned to prose.

Our reporter Ali Gibson caught up with him at the Edinburgh Book festival.
