Four Hundred Mile Run For Combat Stress

As Armed Forces Day approaches a soldier based at Bergen-Hohne in northern Germany is preparing for a challenge of a lifetime.

In August Danny Hirst a Warrant Officer from 32 Engineer Regiment and a captain from another unit, will be spending ten days together running four hundred miles.

Their route will take in all three of the centres run by ex-services mental welfare charity 'Combat Stress'.

As Rob Olver reports, it’s a hugely personal venture for Danny and follows the suicide of a fellow soldier who served in Afghanistan.
