Gurkhas Celebrate Holi Festival Of Colours

Gurkha recruits in Catterick have been celebrating the Hindu festival of colours known as Holi.

It marks the beginning of spring and symbolises new beginnings. It's a time to put conflicts and worries behind you and to start afresh.

It commemorates the story of Prahlada, which is seen to symbolise good overcoming evil.

To celebrate, people throw brightly coloured paints or liquids at each other.

No-one is spared from the festivities, not even the Gurkha instructors or the Officer Commanding!

Forces TV is available on Sky 264, Virgin 277 and Freesat 652.
