Lee Rigby Death Was Not Preventable, Says Committee

Intelligence agencies could not have prevented the murder of soldier Lee Rigby despite his killers featuring in a total of seven error-filled operations before the attack, the Intelligence and Security Committee has said in a report.

That is one of the findings of the critical report into what different agencies knew about the soldier's killers prior to the murder in May 2013.

The inquiry did highlight one online exchange that may have stopped the attack by Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale - but agencies didn't have access to it and it didn't come to light until after the death of Fusilier Rigby.

Matt Teale spoke to Forces TV reporter Laura Hawkins about the scale of the report.
