No Rest For Gurkhas On Intensive Afghanistan Training
2nd Battalion, The Royal Gurkha Rifles are in the final stages of training for their deployment to Afghanistan.
Hundreds of troops will help protect NATO advisors in Kabul and UK mentors at the Afghan National Officer's Academy.
They have spent eight months training, the final stage of which is major mission rehearsal at the Caerwent training area in South Wales.

A compound has been created which mirrors their future base in Afghanistan's capital Kabul.
This gives the Gurkhas the opportunity to train for possible incidents in the safety of the training area before deployment.
