Officer Cadet Credits British Army For Saving Him From A Life Of Crime
A mixed race officer cadet told by friends and family the British Army was only for white people, has received the sword of honour for coming top of his intake at Sandhurst Academy.
Senior Under Officer Kidane Cousland is among only a handful of black, Asian and ethnic minority cadets to be awarded the accolade after joining as a private seven years ago.
It's not bad for someone who left school at 15 unable to read.
