Rochdale Street Named After Crimean War Hero

A street in Rochdale, in the North West of England, is to be named after a soldier who was honoured by Queen Victoria in 1857.

Private Anthony Palmer received the Victoria Cross after he saved the life of a senior officer during the Crimean War. 

Now, plans are underway to rename a Lancashire street in his honour.
