Royal Irish Prepare To Deploy To Kabul

The Royal Irish Regiment is preparing to deploy as Force protection in Kabul.
 
For many in the ranks this is the first time they will have set foot on Afghan soil since 2011, for others this is what they joined for.
 
After a busy 12 months on NATO exercises and ceremonial duties they will be in Afghanistan by the end of the year.
 
The Royal Irish Regiment are preparing to put the Foxhound to the test in Kabul.
 
The Foxhound, Ridgeback, R Wimmick and Wolfhound have already been put through their paces on NATO exercises in Spain and Germany.
