It's been a steep learning curve for the reservists who deployed to Kenya on Exercise Askari Storm alongside the regulars of 2 RIFLES.
7 RIFLES were tested at every opportunity on the vast plains of the Archers Post Training Area, a tough environment that would try even the most experienced of regular soldiers.
They come from all walks of civilian life and bring with them a unique and open attitude, evident in their willingness and determination to learn.
Self-disciplined and motivated, these part time riflemen faced every challenge thrown at them with calm professionalism not because they had to but because they wanted to.
