US Commander: British Army 'Not Big Enough'

The commander of the US Army in Europe says cuts to the British Army have left it under-resourced.

It comes a day after the Chief of the General Staff's admission that the regular Army is at its smallest since the days of Oliver Cromwell.

Lieutenant General Ben Hodges told Forces News:

"It [the Army] is not big enough... The UK has global responsibilities, just like the United States."

He added: "I think the British Army needs to be more resourced... [It's] being asked to do so much.

"I don't know that they're getting all the resources that they need, to do what's asked."
