We Speak to Major Andy Wood About Salamanca Day

The Battle of Salamanca in Spain in July 1812 is said to be one of the Duke of Wellington’s finest victories during the Napoleonic Wars against France.

As present day successors of soldiers who fought with Wellington, 5th Battalion the Rifles marked the battle’s anniversary last month in Afghanistan.

5 RIFLES families are only now celebrating Salamanca Day at the unit’s German base.

Rob Olver has been speaking to the Rear Operations Group Commander.
