Westminster March Marks Last UK Combat Tour of Afghanistan
Soldiers just back from Afghanistan paraded through Westminster on Monday on their way to attend a reception in Parliament to formally mark the end of combat operations in the country.
They were all involved in the final drawdown of Operation Herrick 20 and were responsible for completing the biggest redeployment effort for a generation.
The invitation to 'march in' to Parliament came from the All Party Parliamentary Group.
Many of the troops are based in Germany, and this was a rare opportunity for them to receive personal thanks from their local politicians and from the Secretary of State himself.
