The boys are here: Newest batch of Gurkha recruits arrives in UK to begin infantry training

The first batch of the 323 new recruits joining the prestigious Brigade of Gurkhas have arrived in the UK.

Ahead of them are nine months of basic and specialised infantry training that will turn them into elite fighting warriors and members of one of the most admired military units on the planet.

For them, this is very much the start of an adventure, one that will see the would-be soldiers following in the footsteps of thousands before them.

BFBS Forces News joined the newest batch of recruits – known as "the boys" – as they arrived at their new home at the Infantry Training Centre, Catterick.
