Watch: Head of Army welcomes over 300 recruits into the Brigade of Gurkhas
More than 300 new Gurkha recruits have sworn their allegiance to the King during their attestation parade in Nepal in front of the Chief of the General Staff.
General Sir Patrick Sanders saw 337 new soldiers brought into the British Armed Forces, where after completing their training they will serve in the prestigious Brigade of Gurkhas.
This year's intake is significantly larger than the previous year's parade, which numbered 204.
This is the final stage after a long selection process in Nepal where trainees prove their worth, fitness and endurance.
Following the parade, the Gurkhas will continue their training at Infantry Training Centre Catterick in North Yorkshire.
Gen Sir Patrick is currently visiting the country and shares a special connection with Nepal as his father served in 10 GR (10th Princess Mary's Own Gurkha Rifles).
