Minehunter HMS Middleton goes into dry dock in Falmouth for refit after UK-wide 'tour'

A Royal Navy minehunter has entered dry dock in Falmouth for an extensive revamp, shown in footage released on the vessel's social media.
The video showed HMS Middleton, which has been in service since 1984, sailing into the dry dock for a re-certification docking at Balaena Falmouth, one of the world's biggest natural deep-water harbours.
"Dockyards, dry docks and skilled workforces are all fundamental parts of delivering seapower," HMS Middleton said in a post on X, accompanied by several images of the vessel.
Before going into the dry dock, she embarked on a UK-wide 'tour', involving an anti-clockwise patrol around the country.
The vessel went to the northeast coast for navigational exercises and diving training, prior to stopping at Whitby for a fish and chip takeaway and a port visit to Sunderland.
She then carried on to Scapa Flow in Orkney, the Isle of Skye, and the Isle of Man, where personnel received VIP entry to the TT grandstand and were able to get close to the bikes – and onwards to Falmouth.
On the Isle of Man, Royal Navy personnel got to drive one of the world's microcars, the Peel P50.
