Watch: Amazing footage of HMS Kent from departing Merlin helicopter

HMS Kent has waved goodbye to an embarked Merlin helicopter, sharing footage taken from the aircraft on Twitter.

The video shows the warship from the sky as the Merlin, from 820 Naval Air Squadron, departs the Type 23 frigate.

Both the Merlin and HMS Kent arrived back in the UK after helping to make up the task group deployed alongside HMS Queen Elizabeth.

The Carrier Strike Group took part in a number of flying missions while deployed in Scandinavia and the North Sea.

HMS Queen Elizabeth returned to Portsmouth on Thursday following the deployment, whilst HMS Diamond, also part of the strike group, returned earlier this week.
