Watch: Timelapse of HMS Dauntless arriving into Naval Station Mayport

HMS Dauntless has shared a timelapse video of her arriving into Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Type 45 Destroyer is in Florida at the midpoint of her deployment working alongside the US Coast Guard in the Caribbean Sea countering drug smugglers.

She is also providing support and reassurance to British Overseas Territories during the region's hurricane season from June to November.

In early August, sailors from HMS Dauntless cleaned over 200 kg of dangerous plastic waste from a turtle nesting site on Curaçao Island in the Caribbean.

Fifty crew members volunteered for the clean-up efforts, joining forces with volunteer organisation Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao.

As one of the Royal Navy's six Type 45 Destroyers, Dauntless is a state-of-the-art air defence vessel designed to protect carrier strike groups and other critical assets.
