Archaeologists Making Ground In Spitfire Dig

A team of archaeologists recovering a Spitfire that crashed 75 years ago have begun to pull parts of it from the ground.

The iconic plane crashed during a training flight in 1940 near Huntingdon and serving personnel and veterans have been helping with the dig.

It's hoped that once it's recovered, the Spitfire, or whatever remains of it, will be put on display to the public.
