Dramatic Footage Shows Demolition Of RAF Base

RAF Brampton Demolition

RAF Brampton in Cambridgeshire has been demolished to make way for new housing.

The demolition, carried out by building services company Mick George, took place over a 32-week period.

RAF Brampton closed in 2013, and was later sold by the Ministry of Defence to a housing developer.

Dramatic footage shows the base being flattened as the development began:

A spokesperson for Mick George said of the project:

"The 70-acre development, which is set to house up to 500 residential homes and other community dwellings, has been subject to a host of hard and soft demolition activity, and large-scale Asbestos removal."

"The main three-storey administration building was privileged to be on the receiving end of the first action from the exclusive EC480E High Reach plant that the company has added to its impressive list of equipment."
