16 Air Assault Brigade Welcomes The Gurkhas

Gurkhas in Folkstone have become part of Colchester based 16 Air Assault Brigade.
 
The occasion has been marked with a special ceremony at the Second Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles Barracks at  Folkstone in Kent.
 
16 Air Assault Brigade is the British Army’s largest brigade with some 6,200 soldiers. The brigade's core role is to provide the British Army's rapid reaction force, ready to deploy anywhere in the world at short notice to conduct the full spectrum of military operations.
 
The Brigade consists of elite units, including 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment, the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of The Parachute Regiment, Army Air Corps Regiments and Pathfinder Platoon.
