3 RIFLES Compete In 'Wacky Races' Around Edinburgh

It's been a busy year for soldiers from the 3rd Battalion the Rifles in Edinburgh but before they go on some well-deserved leave, there's just been time for a day of fun and games.

For motorists in Edinburgh, the morning commute was a bit more amusing as soldiers from 3 RIFLES went on a fun run of the local area.

The Dreghorn Grand Prix, three laps of the camp in homemade carts, saw company pride was at stake.

Each one carried their OC and Company Sergeant Major through hills, obstacles, and ambushes.

There were strong efforts on the way round from Headquarters Company, and Fire Support Company but it was A Company who stormed ahead – this year's champions.

After the podium celebration for this Rifles Christmas, the battalion will now head off on leave, and some well deserved time with their families.
