Air Force Colonel Charged With Rape Found Dead
A US Air Force Colonel who was charged with rape has been found dead at his home in an apparent suicide.
The body of Col Eugene Caughey was found by police in Colorado Springs, just weeks before his court-martial was scheduled.
They were called following reports a man was feared to have taken his own life.
The 46-year-old was removed from his post as the Vice Commander of the 50th Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base in June.

The unit operates key military satellite systems.
The colonel had been accused of raping a woman in late 2014 or early 2015 and was also charged with counts of adultery, indecent filming or photography, dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming an officer.
His court-martial was scheduled for October 17
