Around The World In Seven Days
While most of us will be using the festive period to relax with family and friends, spare a thought for the former servicemen who'll be in training to run seven marathons in seven days.
They're aiming to raise funds for the new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre.
'Team Invincible', as they call themselves, consists of two veterans - British Army veteran Ibi Ali and former RAF man Luke Wigman.
What they're attempting is called the 'triple seven' - running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
Mr Ali described the different stages of their upcoming challenge:
"We begin on Antarctica at Union Glacier, then we fly Puntas Arenas in Chile for the South American leg, then onto Miami in North America, then a short hop across over to Madrid for the European leg... Marrakech for the [African leg]... on to Dubai for the [Asia leg], and then [we'll] finish the actual event in Sydney on the seventh day."
The pair are raising funds for the Defence and National Rehab Centre at Headley Court because they have both benefitted from treatments they received there.
Ali and Wigman met while training for the Invictus Games, and made a plan to work together towards the challenge.
The pair will start their first marathon on January 23, 2017.
