Boardercross Marks Dramatic Start For Meribel 2016

The 2016 Inter Services Snow Sports Championships are now underway, with the Army, Royal Navy and RAF all in action in Meribel, France.

And pile-ups, crashes and plenty of adrenaline were the order of the opening day, with snowboarders pushed to their limits in the boardercross.

More than 300 servicemen and women, including the Combined Services Disabled Ski team, will be competing in alpine skiing, snowboarding and telemark ski events this week.

The RAF men and women were last year's Inter Services Alpine Champions, and this year the British Army and Royal Navy's best will be working hard to prise away the coveted titles.

We'll have regular daily reports on Forces TV with coverage on Sports Plus on Tuesday and Friday as well as updates on BFBS Radio and online.
