Britain's Combined Services Culinary Arts Team have become Olympic champions.
 
The Culinary Olympics take place every four years, with the forces team representing the UK in this edition.

It was the service team's immaculate cold platter that impressed the judges enough to turn cold to gold...
 
Combined Services team captain Royal Air Force Corporal Liam Grime still can’t quite take it in:
"You cannot capture that... you cannot describe that feeling... we’ve just achieved and I couldn’t ask any more from the team."

It's been no overnight success - it follows two years of meticulous planning and preparation. 
 
The team of 12 champion Navy, Army and Air Force chefs was carefully selected, with attention to detail, appearance and originality all tested at the Culinary Olympics.

Fortunately, these are skills all the forces chefs have honed while serving in the military.
