British Army Trains Hong Kong's Only Ceremonial Band
The Hong Kong Police Pipe Band has performed across the world, from Manchester to Miami.
However, when the opportunity arose to have some in-country tuition from instructors of the British Army School of Ceremonial, they jumped at the chance to polish up on their pipes and drums.
Since the British Army left Hong Kong in 1997 the police band have had no guidance from their Scottish counterparts.
But there's nothing like having the real deal in Hong Kong to learn from.
As with all faultless performances, it’s all about what goes on in the classroom.
They are the only ceremonial band in Hong Kong so all public engagements fall to these musicians, leaving them with an extremely busy schedule.
When it is time for the British Officers to leave they will be keeping a close eye on their students via YouTube and Skype, keen to ensure their Hong Kong colleagues remember the lessons from the British Army.
