An Up-Close Look At The F-35

As part of the first day of the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), Forces TV has been invited to get a close-up view of the F-35.

The fifth-generation multirole fighter, which is scheduled to be brought into use in the UK by 2018, is being billed as the world's only supersonic, STOVL (short take-off and vertical landing), stealth aircraft.

It's a hugely powerful airplane, able to evade radar due to its shape, and has an impressive array of intergrated weapons.

But does it live up to hype? Forces TV went to find out.
