Crufts Looking For The Ultimate Military Canine Companion

Military Working Dog Charlie, of Germany-based 102 Military Working Dog Squadron, has made it to the final four of the ‘Extraordinary Life of a Working Dog’ awards from the Kennel Club. 

Military Working Dog Charlie has had a career that would be the envy of any soldier.

With 4 operational tours under his belt, he has now been shortlisted for an award at Crufts. 

The dogs are chosen for this job need have a really high toy drive, because wanting a toy is going to make them want to find things, and get a reward from their handler.

Even in this bit of downtime, you can see that Charlie never stops searching. 

Those eyes don’t divert from the job in hand, and over the last 5 years, he been the uncomplaining, faithful and local companion that provides a level of comforting assurance that no other capability can. 

It is certain that countless lives have been saved because of his search abilities, and for this, we hope that Charlie and his handler get the recognition that they deserve.   

For Bobby, who has been working with his canine partner Charlie for the last two years, it’s a proud moment.
