Donations Flood In For Fallen Marathon Soldier
Donations to the military charity London Marathon runner David Seath was running in aid of have hit nearly £150,000.
The British Army Officer, based in Plymouth, died after suffering a suspected heart attack whilst taking part in the annual race.
Almost 5,000 donations have been made to Help for Heroes via a page started by the British Army Captain's friends and colleagues, adding up to a total of over £84,000.
Meanwhile Captain Seath's own fundraising page set up prior to the marathon, which had a modest target of £250, has now hit £62,000 in donations.
He had hoped to run 26 miles to raise money for the charity, but fell tragically short after collapsing three miles from the finish line on Upper Thames Street.
Captain Seath's friends and colleagues now plan to walk the remaining three miles of the marathon he was unable to complete, starting where he fell.
They're also planning a minute's applause during the Army v Navy rugby match at Twickenham on Saturday, 23 minutes into the game, as a mark of respect and in his memory.
