Dying Cancer Veteran Asks For Letters To Read

A dying veteran with cancer has placed an advert in a newspaper to ask people to send him letters to read.

James Wiitamaki, who is being cared for at a veterans' hospital in the US state of Minnesota, wrote: 

"James Wiitamaki is dying from cancer at the St. Cloud VA Hospital. He would like to receive letters from people."

The veteran's great-niece then found the ad and shared it on Facebook:

The hospital has since confirmed that James Wiitamaki is a patient in their community living centre, according to Fox 9.
