Family And Friends Finish Marathon For Fallen Soldier
Warning - the above report contains some flash photography.
The family and friends of Captain David Seath, who died last month at the London Marathon, have completed the route in his memory.
He had been running to raise money for the charity Help for Heroes, and now his loved ones say they will continue his fundraising efforts.
Donations to Help for Heroes via a page started by the British Army officer's friends and colleagues, as well as his own fundraising page set up prior to the marathon, have now hit nearly £200,000.
He had hoped to run 26 miles to raise money for the charity, but fell tragically short after collapsing three miles from the finish line on Upper Thames Street, having suffered a suspected heart attack.
Police and paramedics treated Captain Seath at the scene and he was taken to St Thomas' hospital but he died a short time later.
So his friends and colleagues walked the remaining three miles of the marathon he was unable to complete, starting where he fell.
