Football Bosses Tell Forces TV Poppies Will Be Worn

The heads of both the English and Scottish FA have observed a two minutes silence during a service at Wembley Stadium.

The home of English football will play host to a World Cup Qualifier between the two nations later on this evening.

Forces TV spoke to FA CEO Martin Glenn about the matter.

Both countries asked to wear black armbands bearing a poppy in tonights game, a request which FIFA says 'it does not have the power to grant.'

Rules forbid "political" statements on shirts.

However, both FAs are planning to let players wear poppies on armbands for this evening's match despite the guidance from Fifa.
